SEER Plan

The nature of almost any disaster is its effect on our built environment.  Structural engineers, therefore, play a key role in the assessment of occupancies damaged by these  events. It is for this reason that The Ohio Structural Engineers Emergency Response (SEER) Plan has been created.

For small-scale or local disasters, the Ohio SEER Plan provides both building officials and emergency managers with access to qualified structural engineers in their region who can be retained on an emergency basis.  For truly  large-scale or catastrophic events, The Ohio SEER Plan can be mobilized by the state of Ohio to provide a volunteer strike-team type building assessment resource.

This page is being provided to help inform structural engineers on emergency assessment procedures  and to provide an outlet for standardized evaluation materials.  Its intent is  also to promote this program to both building officials and emergency managers as the most current and efficient resource available for emergency structural engineering services.

Any questions regarding  The Ohio SEER Plan can be directed by e-mail to Stan Fuller, SEER Plan Committee Chair, or by calling Stan at 614-766-0066.
